Job Title: Part Time Lecturer – Voice in Context Lectures (BA Voice) & Research Seminars (BA Voice)
Salary: £29.28 to £32.93 per hour (inclusive of prep time and holiday pay)
About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one and group teaching on the BA Voice (Performance & Pedagogy) programme, including specialist voice teaching through extracurricular activities where appropriate.
  • Assess student performance and coursework, participate in voice assessment panels, and provide timely, constructive feedback in line with institutional guidelines.
  • Support and facilitate student performances and events while collaborating with academic and professional services teams to deliver an outstanding student experience.
  • Work closely with the Academic Manager, BA Voice lecturers, and departmental colleagues to plan teaching, ensure curriculum quality, and maintain effective communication across the programme.
  • Contribute to the development of voice provision, departmental strategy, and curriculum within the School of Popular Music and Voice.

About You

  • Honours and postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, with expertise in vocal pedagogy through professional practice and/or research; a higher education teaching qualification is desirable.
  • Experience teaching in higher education, supported by comprehensive subject knowledge, evidence of teaching excellence, and current awareness of research in the field.
  • Strong understanding of the music industry, particularly in relation to voice and vocal performance.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students.
  • Collaborative approach to working across departments, with proficiency in using subject-specific technologies and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
