Overview
Production Manager – Derby, Derbyshire
- This is a full-time on site role
- The base location for this role Derby, DE21 7BS. Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area.
Main Responsibilities
- Coach and inspire your department, including employee engagement and best practice in the manufacturing industry.
- Support team leaders to lead and motivate a team of production operatives.
- Working with the Site Manufacturing Manager to ensure we meet labour and ingredient budgets
- Drive continuous improvement for your department.
- Working to the values and being an effective team member contributing cross functionally to initiatives where appropriate
- Play your part in meeting the objectives on the site business plan and ensuring these objectives are translated into team leader and operative PDRs.
Ideal Candidate
You will fit right into this role if you:
- Have a proven track record in leading 24/7 manufacturing teams, ideally within a food manufacturing environment
- Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels
- Can demonstrate a proven ability to provide excellence in customer service
- Have proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Have experience of, and the ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace
- Are results focused with strong planning, prioritising and organisation skills
- Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales
- Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative
- Have advanced Excel skills to support with analysis and the ability to work with large data sets
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience of analysing information and issues to identify current and potential problems and develop and implement workable solutions
- Able to engage and work collaboratively with other teams to make improvements to processes and influence stakeholders at all levels
- A good communicator, able to operate at all levels clearly and concisely with the proven ability to communicate complex data terminology so it is understood by the data owner and the business
