We have an exciting role on offer within our Access and Safeguarding service as a Qualified Social Worker.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Work Student about to qualify, a newly qualified Social Worker looking to complete the ASYE or an experienced Social Worker looking for a new challenge within Adult Social Care.
To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2026.
Do you have the passion to support people living with diverse needs including (but not limited to) autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties and educational needs, people with acquired brain injuries and people who experience addiction and significant trauma? The role involves working directly using the conversational, person centered and trauma informed approach promoting independence and discussing how to support individuals to meet their goals and aspirations. You will undertake strengths based assessments under the Care Act 2014 and develop plans to meet the desired outcomes of both service users and carers alike.
Within the West Locality Adult Social Work Team, you will be working collaboratively with partner agencies including South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust and Accessing Change Together (ACT) Middlesbrough, amongst many others including the Voluntary and Private Sector, whilst working to achieve the best outcomes for our communities.
You will work with experienced and settled teams, holding an interesting and varied caseload. You will have the opportunity to take a blended contract, working from home as well working from Fountain Court, our open planned and modern office. New staff joining Middlesbrough Council can expect a warm welcome from the team. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other adult social care teams and our homeless team who share our office space. Middlesbrough Council offer superb training and development opportunities via our online training portal and through our workforce development lead.
For ASYE social workers we provide a high level of support to staff with experienced social workers providing regular and tailored guidance and input with regular staff catch ups and development sessions. As a service we are also committed to supporting our staff and providing a healthy work culture. Staff have access to monthly supervision (with increased frequency for NQSWs undertaking their ASYE) as well as other staff support forums and protected development time. New staff joining Middlesbrough can expect a welcome induction from the Chief Executive as well as a full induction programme within Adult Social Care and within the team.

Salary: £33,699 – £44,075 (Plus 10% market supplement once AYSE completed)
