The Quality Auditor role:

This role will involve auditing the quality of National Care Group services in line with national regulatory standards in England & Wales. The postholder will also support the Head of Quality regulatory standards in England & Wales.

The postholder will also support the Head of Quality to monitor overall quality and compliance across all National Care Group Services and

provide information to assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.  

Working in collaboration with all NCG departments, the postholder will support the development of systems for collecting and managing, analysing and presenting up to date and relevant quality information.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct regulatory-based inspections including desk-based assessments of National Care Group services to make sure they are operating in line with statutory requirements and nationally agreed best practice for adult social care services.
  • Develop individual audit plans which detail activities, timelines & priorities to ensure capacity to schedule & manage inspections using NCG agreed formats based upon the regulatory requirements of CQC & Care Inspectorate of Wales.
  • Support services to improve quality to enable NCG to provide outstanding outcomes for the people we support
  • Assess and analyse information from a range of sources in order to be effective in promptly identifying trends in respect of risks and concerns that may impact negatively on standards of quality and safety or indicate non-compliance
  • Ensure that judgements made are based on corroborated evidence and analysis to maintain an audit trail of evidence assessed.
  • To report to the Head of Quality to highlight any areas of risk.
  • Support the Head of Quality to review action plans.

Skills, Abiltiies & Experience required:

  • Ability to use audit and compliance assessment processes that are appropriate to NCG 
  • services. 
  • Strong leadership skills incorporating challenge and support. 
  • Understanding of and ability to weigh evidence against the regulatory judgement 
  • framework. 
  • Ability to interpret data. 
  • Skills in use of IT, including Office packages and the internet. 
  • Understanding of complex needs and behaviour that challenges services. 
  • Ability to work effectively as an autonomous practitioner and as part of the team. 
  • Ability to regularly travel nationally and remote work. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate.
  • Current experience at an operational level within a compliance, contract monitoring or 
  • commissioning role. 
  • Relevant employment experience within a statutory regulatory body, e.g., Ofsted, CIW 
  • or CQC. 
  • Current experience of working in the field of learning disabilities, mental health, or 
  • autism. 
  • Understanding of assessment and management of risk in services for people who 
  • experience challenging behaviour. 
  • Experience of supporting service improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

NVQ 4/5 in Care or similar qualification
