Reader in/Professor of Immunobiology – Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

The School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences at King’s College London is seeking to appoint a Reader or Professor of Immunobiology within the  Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape the future of experimental and translational immunology research at King’s and strengthen the UK’s position in this critical field.
 
The  School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences is dedicated to delivering world-class research and education focused on the immune system in health and disease. With exceptional opportunities for collaboration across King’s and with our partner hospital Trusts, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing high-impact research, education and innovation.
 
We are looking for a motivated and visionary scientist to establish a world-leading research programme in fundamental experimental immunology, with potential for clinical translation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in lymphocyte biology research that complements or strategically aligns with the ongoing immunobiology research in the School. They will drive high-quality research, secure major grant funding, recruit outstanding fellowship candidates, and contribute to research-led education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There will be excellent opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, including Immunology, Infection, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Cancer, and Translational Medicine.
 
Applicants should hold a PhD in immunology or a related field and demonstrate evidence of research excellence and impact, sustained success in securing research funding, experience in teaching and supervising students, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
