Overview

 Repairs Technician (Multi-Trade)

Location: Teddington, Southwest London

Salary: £42,123 per annum

Who we’re looking for

As part of our Repairs team, you’ll be responsible for delivering a high-quality, safe and responsive repairs service across our homes. You’ll use your multi-trade skills to complete a wide range of repairs, installations and maintenance works, helping to keep our customers’ homes safe, well maintained and in good condition.

You’ll work across a range of responsive repairs, small works, complaint works and works relating to the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS). You’ll take ownership of your jobs from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered within the required timescales, to the right quality standard and, wherever possible, completed first time.

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in a similar all-round multi-trade role, working within occupied properties for a social housing provider. You’ll have the practical skills and experience to undertake repairs and installations across a range of trades, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, flooring and UPVC.

You’ll also be confident in scoping and delivering small works, including identifying resource requirements, ordering materials and ensuring works are completed effectively. Experience using mobile devices and digital systems, including PDA technology and van stock processes, will be important, alongside a strong understanding of safe systems of work, relevant legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice and recognised industry standards.

Above all, you’ll be customer-focused, taking the time to listen, understand and find the best way forward. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams, communicate clearly with a diverse range of customers, and take a safety-first approach to everything you do. You’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering quality work, solves problems practically and builds trust by doing what you say you will.

Trade-specific qualifications and accreditations would be beneficial, as would experience or an understanding of the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.

Full UK driving license is essential.
