Senior Production Manager – Cardiff, Wales

Salary: £91,323

The Role

To provide management and leadership of fleet maintenance and repair activities within the production department at Canton Depot. Ensuring that all work is coordinated in line with capacity and the fleet maintenance plan, forming the depot production plan in conjunction with Fleet Planning.

 

Role responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding safety leadership to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all employees, visitors and contractors through good leadership, communication, processes and procedures
  • Lead, develop and champion Continuous Improvement in working processes to achieve the desired standards within the depot.
  • Ensure the recruitment, motivation, training, and development of depot production staff to produce effective teams capable of meeting their targets and objectives. Undertake safety, technical and local briefings as required.
  • Ensure technical, safety, and environmental standards are maintained on all Traction and Rolling Stock and that management systems on the depot comply with company standards. Ensure that all production teams are adhering to these standards.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of engineering and management, with particular emphasis on railway vehicle engineering and production.
  • Engineering or Technical apprenticeship qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • Experience in the leadership and development of an engineering discipline team operating in a safety critical environment.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of maintenance planning/scheduling

 

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
