Description:
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join the Tenancy & Sustainment Team , where you will be involved in managing the efficient turnaround of void properties from the first contact regarding termination of a tenancy, advertisement and allocation, through to re-let to a ‘Lettable Standard’ in accordance with Council policy and procedure, including carrying out viewings and the effective reporting of refusals. The role will also include additional exciting projects

Responsibilities:

Tenancy Management responsibilities including pre-tenancy work and sign-up, ensuring new tenants are aware of their obligations in terms of tenancy compliance and to carry out pre-termination inspections.
To effectively manage and administrate requests for transfers, decants, management moves, and mutual exchange
Carry out new tenant visits. Provide tailored support at the beginning of the tenancy through support plans to ensure that the resident is settling in well. Signpost residents to register for utilities, council tax, doctor, dentist and other benefit applications to maximise income.
Work closely with Adult Social Care, Mental Health Services, Children’s Services and other agencies in supporting vulnerable households
To manage temporary accommodation and the housing led project

Requirements:

Residential lettings experience
An understanding of administrative processes and systems
Experience of promoting and facilitating tenant and leaseholder engagement and empowerment
Experience of tenancy management
Good communication and negotiation skills
Ability to deal with people in challenging situations
Ability to advocate for tenants and leaseholders and support them to become empowered
Ability to work subject to deadlines involving problem solving, changing circumstances or demand
IT literacy and experience of project management
To keep up to date on best practice providing training and development to strengthen customers’ and colleagues’ knowledge

This role is based at Ebley Mill (Council HQ) with potential for hybrid/flexible working.
