Volunteer Experience Co-ordinator – Borrowdale,Keswick, United Kingdom

As Volunteer Experience Co-ordinator, you’ll lead the development of inclusive, engaging and impactful volunteering experiences across the North & West Lake District Landscapes Portfolio. You’ll work with teams to grow and diversify volunteer involvement, ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported and connected to our cause.

Salary: £16,567.20 per annum pro rated (based on full-time equivalent of £27,612)
Contract Duration: Permanent 
Working Pattern: You will work 22.5 hours per week. We are flexible on how these hours are worked, but the role is best delivered primarily on-site, with a main base at our office in Keswick and regular travel to other locations across the property group. Some weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working will be required.

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.  
The North & West Lake District Landscapes Portfolio is a large countryside portfolio covering six valleys of the Lake District National Park, Wordsworth House & Garden in Cockermouth, and coastal land in the heart of Whitehaven.
Reporting to the Senior Community, Participation & Volunteering Manager, you’ll be part of the Community, Participation and Volunteering (CPV) team in the North & West Lakes. This team of 4 sits within a wider property group of around 40 colleagues and 200 volunteers, working across a range of roles. In this role, you’ll help support and develop volunteering across the area, with a particular focus on volunteers at Wordsworth House & Garden in Cockermouth.
You’ll support teams to deliver the full volunteer journey – from recruitment and induction to recognition and exit. You’ll embed inclusive practices, remove barriers, and ensure volunteers have a voice in shaping their experience. You’ll use data and feedback to improve systems and processes, and help colleagues build confidence in working alongside volunteers. Your work will help grow volunteer involvement and deepen its impact.
Using your strong organisational skills, you’ll prioritise and deliver work across a geographically spread area, using your positive and open communication style to engage and work with a wide range of people, including National Trust colleagues and volunteers, community members, and partners.
