About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cambridgeshire Youth Justice Service (YJS) as a Youth Justice Service Transition Adviser (YJS TA). This is a specialist role within a multi-disciplinary service and as a YJS TA you will offer intensive 1:1 support to children/young people (aged 10-18) open to Youth Justice Service who are assessed as attending inappropriate provision or those young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET. Ā
We have two permanent posts available at our office bases in Huntingdon & Cambridge City. The post holders will primarily cover the respective geographical area but at times may be required to support children/young people living outside of Cambridgeshire.

- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with young people and their families and with range of other professionals/agencies.Ā
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage time effectively to meet the needs of the role.Ā
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across diverse disciplines.
- Ability to manage challenging situations, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.Ā
- You will be willing to continue your professional development through informal and formal training. Ā
Ā
Skills and Experience: Ā
- Knowledge and experience of working with young people in a variety of settings and with challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge of opportunities in employment and training for young people and evidence of working with providers.Ā
- Knowledge of legislation relating to youth justice, raising participation and safeguarding.Ā
- You will have ability to produce, keep and maintain good case recording and assessments.Ā
