Role Overview & Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in London for an Employee Relations Specialist.

In partnership with the Head of People, the ER Specialist will work collaboratively with the People team across the business, sharing knowledge and supporting the team in rolling out projects as well as promoting and maintaining an inspiring company culture in line with our values.

The role suits someone who is a HR generalist with strong knowledge of Employment Law and having prior experience in Employee Relations is required. The ideal candidate will hold a related qualification such as CIPD.

Overview of role

First point of contact on all people related queries for managers and employees with the responsibility for handling employee relations issues such as disciplinary, grievance, and sickness absence management and will proactively advise and guide them on HR policies and procedures across the full range of employee life-cycle activities.

  • Ensure a collaborative and robust approach to employee relations is developed and maintained.
  • Take a proactive approach to delivering timely and professional advice across the full range of employee life-cycle activities.
  • Manage relationships with key leaders and act as their business partner whilst supporting them and their teams.
  • Lead case management on ER related issues.
  • Risk assess ER related issues and use experience, knowledge and insights to ensure that all advice and decision making influence is well informed, accurate and in line with legislation and company procedures.
  • Deliver a high-quality service, providing expert support to managers through a coaching approach to managers/site leads on employee relation cases, which includes investigations, disciplinary, short- and long-term absences, grievances, capability, appeals and any change management (specifically TUPE process).
  • Support the implementation, updating and refreshing of People team policies and procedures.
  • Work pro-actively to minimise employee relations issues through the upskilling and training of site leads population ensuring the utilisation of available resources.
  • Effective support, buddying, and development of other members of the People Team.
  • Develop and deliver training on a variety of HR topics as guided by the Head of People.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with key departments and stakeholders.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to maintaining up to date knowledge of employment law/legislation changes and ensuring that our practice and policies are reflective of any changes on a regular basis.
  • Support the People Coordinator to ensure that HR audits and right to work status are managed and monitored.

Salary: £37,000



Qualifications

  • Experience in HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to operate and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with high volume workload
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferably)
