Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage user requests for new desktop hardware, from order through to fulfilment and dispatch 
  • Place hardware orders with suppliers (e.g. PC’s, tills, laptops, mobile phones, peripherals). 
  • Build, install and configure desktop hardware devices ensuring compliance with IT policies 
  • Perform general maintenance tasks and remedial repairs on end users devices, ie PC’s, laptops, printers and any other authorised peripheral equipment  
  • Identify, log and troubleshoot end user hardware and desktop application issues and requests, working to agreed SLA’s and documenting all progress on the IT Service Management Tool. 
  • Familiarise end users on basic desktop software, hardware and peripheral device operation as part of the new starter process and user training. 
  • Develop knowledge of PC and POS operating systems and application software, to provide a high level of support  
  • Work with other IT teams to support key deliverables in relation to the build and installation of EUC hardware 
  • Ensure the provision and correct set up and maintenance of printers and hand held devices 
  • Assist with the troubleshooting of any network connectivity and telephony issues, working with other IT Teams and support partners  
  • Provide on-going patch management and assist with delivery of service improvements and innovation in relation to the EUC devices 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Familiarity with EUC and POS hardware components, peripherals, and interfaces. 
  • Office 365 , Active Directory, Intune,  
  • Windows 7, 8.1, 10  
  • Windows Deployment Services/MST 
  • Good communication (both verbal and written) and customer service skills  
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritise workload  
  • Technical knowledge of PCs and desktop hardware.  
  • Basic networking skills e.g. LAN/WAN/VPN support   
  • Works well under pressure and can multi-task   
  • Ideally will hold a full clean driving licence as travel between group sites may be required.  
  • Experience of working in an ITIL environment
