Salary: Wiltshire Grade H £29,269 – £31,364 FTE
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30-12:30 – Term time including TD days plus one additional week

Luckington is a small, friendly rural primary school at the heart of its community, with 44 pupils across two classes. We are supported by dedicated staff, governors, and parents, and we work closely with the on-site Cherry Blossoms Pre-school. As a small school, we rely on efficient and effective management of our finances, administration, and compliance to ensure we make the very best use of our resources for pupils’ benefit. This role is central to supporting the Head Teacher and Governors in securing the school’s continued success and sustainability.
All about the role:
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated School Finance Manager to join our team. This is a key role with responsibility for overseeing the school’s finances, administration, and health and safety compliance.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage the school’s budgets, accounts, and audits, providing accurate financial reporting to the Head Teacher and Governors.
- Oversee financial systems, payroll checks, contracts, procurement, and insurance, ensuring value for money and compliance with audit requirements.
- Take responsibility for risk management and health and safety, ensuring statutory obligations and policies are effectively implemented.
- Lead on administration including pupil data, statutory returns, and supporting staff, parents, and visitors.
- Contribute to strategic budget planning and development as part of the governor finance committee.
