Job Title: Senior Finance Manager – Design & Installation (Kitchen & Bathrooms)

We are recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Support Centre in Watford to provide financial control, support and analysis to the end to end Design & Installation (DIFM) customer  project journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce management accounts for DIFM, effectively articulating the key drivers for sales and margin variances against both budget and last year. Analyse the impact of product and channel mix, and highlight significant trends in order book and provision movements.

  • Oversee DIFM balance sheet accounts, implementing robust controls and developing a thorough understanding of risks and opportunities across all interdependent balance sheet accounts. Collaborate with other Finance teams to maintain a cohesive and comprehensive perspective on balance sheet-related risks and opportunities.

  • Serve as the lead for DIFM Finance in business projects, ensuring that any impacts to the process are fully understood and proactively leveraging support to define and implement more efficient and robust processes and ways of working.

  • Manage and develop one analyst, providing coaching, guidance, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure their success within the organisation.

  • Liaise with both internal and external audit teams, addressing audit queries and reporting on process and controls improvement plans for the audit committee.

  • Present key DIFM financial metrics to senior management at the ‘Delivering it Right’ operational review meetings, providing insightful analysis and interpretation of financial data to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process for DIFM, actively participating in the development and refinement of financial projections and plans, while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and accurate outcome.

What are we looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

  • Retail / FMCG experience Business partnering

  • Broad finance experience 

  • Solid technical accounting experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office with good Excel/Google Sheets skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Financially literate

  • Problem solving skills

  • Team player/happy to help/can do attitude

  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise work.

  • Hard working and proactive

  • Enthusiastic and inquisitive
